January 2005

Sean McMahon and Tom DiMaria scored pins for the Dallas wrestling team in a loss to Wyoming Valley West.

McMahon won at 140 pounds, while DiMaria won at 152 pounds. Matt Hufford (119) and John McCue (125) each won by decision. Wrestling up at 135, Dallas’ John Hettes scored a narrow 11-10 decision over Paul Krasavage.

January 1995

Lake-Lehman’s Mike Pitcavage posted the fastest fall of the match as he silenced his Tunkhannock opponent in just 19 seconds as the Black Knights rattled Tunkhannock, 60-6.

The Knights used four forfeits and five pins en route to the win. Eric Maciejczak, Mike Stuart, Tim Sayre and John Wood also posted pins for Lake-Lehman.

January 1985

The Dallas Mountaineers girls basketball team won the Wyoming Valley Conference Division 2 first half title with a win over Crestwood.

Dallas avenged a 63-49 loss to Crestwood with a 45-41 win to earn the title. Kern scored 12 points for Dallas, while Gavigan gave the Mountaineers 10 points and 14 rebounds. Kim Rinehimer, Karen Vloedman and Gavigan combined for more than 30 rebounds in the game.

January 1975

Lake-Lehman’s boys basketball team posted an upset win over Dallas, thanks to Dan Yankowski’s 32 points. Lehman outscored Dallas 76-70.

Allardyce backed Yankowski up with 18 points. Coombs and Bogdon had 12 and 10 points, respectively, for the Black Knights.

Dallas’ Fritzges posted 16 points, while Riefenstahl chalked up 13 points and Wallace had 12 points.
