The Northeastern Pennsylvania Scholastic Hockey League announced the All-Tournament Team following the conclusion of the Casey Classic Tournament in which Crestwood won its second championship in a row, topping Wyoming Area 7-3.

Players were selected based on their performances during the five-day tournament.

Goaltender Corey McAndrew, who plays for Back Mountain, helped propel the Blackhawks to a first-seed berth in the semifinals. The 17-year old netminder attends Dallas High School. Teammate Zach Ouladelhadjahmed was also selected for the All-Tournament team. Ouladelhadjahmed, 17, attends Lake-Lehman High School.

Crestwood saw two players make the All-Tournament squad. Both Tanner Kahlau, 17, and Stefan Krupski, 17, each made the list for their performances throughout the tournament.

Kahlau had four assists while Krupski found the back of the net once and assisted on two others to help the Comets to victory in the championship game against Wyoming Area. Krupski tallied eight points (6G-2A) in Crestwood’s first game of the tournament against Wyoming Valley West, which they went on to win 10-1.

From the runners-up Wyoming Area team, forward Brendan Lee claimed a spot on the All-Tournament team. The 17-year old Warrior factored into all three of the team’s goals in the championship game against Crestwood, scoring two and recording a helper on the other.

Ryan Flanagan, from Pittston Area, helped the Patriots to a 3-0 record in the round-robin. The Patriots went into the semifinal round as the second seed behind Back Mountain. Flanagan was an offensive leader for Pittston Area and tallied a goal and an assist in a game against the Patriot’s rival, Wyoming Area.

With the 14th annual Casey Classic in the books, the players and coaches of the NEPASHL return their focus to the remainder of the regular season. Games will resume Sunday when Wyoming Valley West will take on Holy Redeemer and Pittston Area will face off against Crestwood.
