A chance of rain will linger throughout the weekend thanks to remnants from Tropical Depression Cindy.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 69 degrees as of 7 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport.

Cloudy skies are expected today with a high of 83. A chance of showers and thunderstorms likely after 11 a.m. Light wind up to 9 miles per hour.

The rain will follow into tonight with a low around 68. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.

Rain will lead to cloudy skies Saturday becoming mostly sunny with a high near 84. Up to a quarter of an inch of rain is expected with higher amounts possible in the thunderstorms.

Clouds will stay into Saturday night with a low in the upper 50s.

Sunday will bring a slight chance of showers before 2 p.m. and wind gusts are anticipated up to 20 miles per hour. The high is forecasted to be 78.

The low on Sunday night will be around 54. Partly cloudy skies are expected.
