The Dallas freshman baseball team scored 33 runs while winning its first three games.

The Mountaineers defeated Hazleton Area, 9-4, and Pittston Area, 9-5, in a three-day stretch, then came back with a 15-5 rout of visiting Coughlin Tuesday.

Jack Lukasavage, who went 3-for-3, and Jake Connolly, who was 2-for-3 with a double, each drove in three runs in the opening win at Hazleton Area. Jake Shaver struck out six while giving up just one hit in four innings as the starting pitcher.

Connolly was the winning pitcher and again went 2-for-3 with three RBI in a comeback from a 5-0 deficit in the home opener against Pittston Area. Zack Holthaus had two hits and drove in two runs. Cooper Kelly struck out three in two innings of relief.

Freddie Lombardo had two doubles and drove in four runs in the rout of Coughlin. Holthaus had three hits and drove in a run while Lucas McGeehan and Connolly each had two hits and two RBI. Jake Shaver, Dean Shaver and Lukasavage handled the pitching.
