More showers, thunderstorms possible in the Wyoming Valley as the weekend approaches

WILKES-BARRE — The Wyoming Valley could see some more rain as the week draws to a close.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 72 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with mostly cloudy skies reported.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected today, with a high near 83. Cloudy skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 64.

Thursday will bring mostly sunny skies, along with scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the high will be near 86.

Partly cloudy skies will follow into Thursday night, along with isolated showers and thunderstorms before 11 p.m. The low will be around 65.

Sunny skies will round out the week on Friday, with a high near 88. Mostly clear skies will follow into Friday night, with a low around 66.
