Traffic congestion could slow commuters in the Wyoming Valley this morning

Areas of traffic congestion could add extra time onto the morning commute in the Wyoming Valley.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstates 81 and 476. Scattered areas of minor congestion are reported on Route 315, but Route 115 is free of congestion.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of congestion, but some could be encountered on the 0ff-ramps. The South Cross Valley Expressway is also free of congestion.

Near the Wyoming Valley Mall, isolated areas of heavy congestion are reported on Kidder and Mundy streets.

Downtown, areas of minor and heavy congestion are reported along Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. Widespread areas of minor congestion are also reported on East Northampton Street.

Elsewhere, minor congestion is reported on several streets, including:

• North Main / South Main streets

• Hazle Street

• North / South Franklin streets

• West / East Market streets

• North / South River streets

In Kingston, isolated areas of minor and heavy congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue.
