Sunshine is expected in the Wyoming Valley through the rest of the week, but the chance for thunderstorms will return on Friday.

The National Weather Service indicated it was 61 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, and fog and mist was reported.

Partly sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 79. Mostly clear skies will follow into tonight, with a low around 56.

Sunny skies are predicted Thursday, with a high near 84. Partly cloudy skies will carry over into Thursday night, with a low around 61.

Partly cloudy skies will round out the week on Friday, along with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. The high will be near 83.

Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Friday night, along with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 a.m. The low will be around 61.
