Commuters could encounter some scattered areas of traffic congestion as the short workweek begins.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstates 81 and 476. Some heavy congestion is reported on Route 315 in the area of East Main Street, as well as on Route 115 in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps. Widespread minor congestion is reported in the southbound lanes of the South Cross Valley Expressway.

Near the Wyoming Valley Mall, isolated areas of minor congestion are reported on Kidder, Mundy and Spring streets.

Downtown is generally quiet this morning, but some scattered areas of minor congestion are reported on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and onto South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. Isolated areas of minor congestion are also reported on Hazle, North Main, South Main, North River and South River streets.

In Kingston, isolated areas of minor congestion are reported on Market Street, while scattered areas of heavy congestion are reported on Wyoming Avenue.
