Sunshine will stick around for today, but rain is expected into the weekend.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 52 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with fog and mist reported.

Sunny skies are expected today, with a high near 79.

Clouds will increase tonight, and there will be a chance of showers into the early-morning hours of Friday. The low will be around 58.

Showers will be likely on Friday, along with some possible thunderstorms. A 90 percent chance of rain is predicted, and up to a half an inch of rain could fall. The high will be near 70.

Mostly cloudy skies will gradually clear into Friday night, and there will be a chance of showers before 7 p.m. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the low will be around 49.

Partly sunny skies are predicted for Saturday, along with showers likely after 9 a.m. No rainfall amounts have been predicted, and the high will be near 67.

Showers will continue to be likely before 9 p.m. on Saturday night, with a low around 41.

Mostly sunny skies will round out the weekend on Sunday, with a high near 55. Partly cloudy skies will carry over into Sunday night, with a low around 39.
