Power has been restored to more than 2,000 Back Mountain area properties, said UGI Spokesman Joseph Swope.

The outage was caused by a motor vehicle accident.

UGI rerouted service to most of the customers by 11 p.m. Saturday, but the rest had to wait until crews repaired the damaged pole, Swope said.

Kunkle Fire Chief Jack Dodson said Sunday morning the one-car crash occurred around 6 p.m. Saturday on Kunkle Road in Dallas Township.

Emergency equipment was required to extract the driver from the vehicle, he said.

He referred further comment on the identity of the driver and other information to Dallas Township Police.

Township police could not be reached for comment Sunday morning.

The outage impacted properties in Harveys Lake and three townships — Dallas, Lake and Lehman, according to a UGI outage map.
