Minor, heavy traffic congestion could delay the morning commute

Commuters could encounter some areas of minor and heavy congestion on the way into work and school this morning.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstate 81, while scattered areas of minor traffic congestion are reported on Interstate 476.

Route 315 is also reporting scattered areas of minor traffic congestion, while heavy traffic congestion is reported on Route 315 in the area of East Mountain Boulevard.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of congestion, but areas of minor and heavy congestion are reported on the off-ramps. Minor congestion is reported throughout the South Cross Valley Expressway.

Near the Wyoming Valley Mall, scattered areas of minor and heavy congestion are reported on Kidder, Mundy and Spring streets. Areas of minor congestion are also reported on Highland Park Boulevard near the Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace.

Downtown, Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard are each reporting scattered areas of minor and heavy congestion. Isolated areas of heavy congestion are reported on East Northampton and North Main streets, as well as North Pennsylvania Avenue.

Elsewhere, minor congestion is reported throughout Hazle Street, as well as East Market, East North and North River streets.

In Kingston, scattered areas of minor and heavy congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
