Commuters could encounter some scattered areas of traffic congestion, but otherwise, the ride into work and school this morning should be a smooth one.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstate 81, while scattered areas of minor traffic congestion are reported on Interstate 476. Routes 315 and 115 are also reporting scattered areas of minor traffic congestion.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps.

Near the Wyoming Valley Mall, areas of minor and heavy congestion are reported on Kidder and Mundy streets. Closer to the downtown area, Coal and East Northampton streets are each reporting minor congestion.

In the downtown area, minor congestion is reported on Wilkes-Barre Boulevard, with heavier congestion reported on South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard. Heavy congestion is also reported on North Pennsylvania Avenue at the intersection with East Market Street.

Otherwise, commuters could encounter minor congestion on South Main, South Franklin, North River, South River and West North streets.

In Kingston, mixtures of minor and heavy congestion are reported on Market Street and Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
