Commuters could encounter some traffic congestion on the way into work and school this morning.

Free-flowing traffic is reported on Interstates 81 and 476, while scattered areas of minor traffic congestion are reported on Routes 315 and 115.

The North Cross Valley Expressway is free of traffic congestion, but some could be encountered on the off-ramps.

Near the Wyoming Valley Mall, some heavy congestion is reported on Kidder Street, while minor congestion is reported on Mundy Street. Scattered areas of minor and heavy traffic congestion are also reported on Highland Park Boulevard extending toward Wilkes-Barre Township Boulevard.

Downtown, several streets are reporting scattered areas of minor and heavy traffic congestion. Affected streets include:

• Wilkes-Barre / South Wilkes-Barre boulevards

• Hazle Street

• Academy Street

• South Main Street

• East / West Market streets

• North / South River streets

In Kingston, minor congestion is reported on Market Street while areas of heavy congestion are reported on Wyoming Avenue throughout the borough.
