The chance for rain will linger in the Wyoming Valley through most of the latter part of the week.

O0 Friday and into Friday night, the area could also see some snow.

The National Weather Service indicated that it was 42 degrees as of 6:54 a.m. at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, with overcast skies reported.

Mostly sunny skies will stick around today, with a high near 50.

Mostly cloudy skies are expected tonight, along with a 40 percent chance of showers. The low will be around 41.

Thursday will bring an 80 percent chance of rain, with up to a half an inch of rainfall possible. The high will be near 51.

A 60 percent chance of rain is predicted for Thursday night, with mostly cloudy skies expected otherwise. Less than a tenth of an inch of rain is expected, and the low will be around 39.

Mostly sunny skies will wrap up the week on Friday, with a slight chance of rain and snow showers after 1 p.m. The high will be near 42.

Partly cloudy skies are predicted for Friday night, along with a 30 percent chance of snow showers before 1 a.m. The low will be around 27.
