August was another quiet month for the Back Mountain Chamber, as many members were enjoying some last minute summer vacation time before school starts for their children. The Back Mountain Chamber wishes everyone a safe and happy start of another school year.

New members

We would like to extend a warm welcome to our newest members: Attorney Glenn Yanik, a Back Mountain attorney with offices in Forty Fort, specializing in estate planning and administration, elder law and real estate transaction; Ideaworks, a strategic marketing agency in Wyoming, managed by Chelsey Tupper; Davis Trophy, a professional trophy design and assembly company located in Sweet Valley, managed by Jim Davis; and The Beekeepers Daughter, located in Plains Township, specializing in bottling and distributing raw honey. Help us ensure the growth of small businesses in our region by buying their products and using their services.

Our Back Mountain Chamber Economic Summit Breakfast, featuring a speaker from the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, will be held Oct. 21. The presentation is a comprehensive review of the economy, similar to those given to Congress each fall. The event will be held at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus. More details will be presented as we get closer to the event.
