KINGSTON TWP. — Supervisors honored five members of the Shavertown Volunteer Fire Company for saving Ilalou Warmouth from a July 4 house fire.

“Assistant Fire Chief Erik Sowga, Captain David Rinehimer John Berti, Keith Rinehimer and Ted Sherrill discovered Ilalou Warmouth trapped in a second-floor apartment in the building that the fire originated,” Kingston Township Supervisor chairman James Reino said at a municipal meeting Wednesday.

“In the spirit of compassion and selfless bravery, the firefighters fought through the flames and rescued Ilalou Warmouth,” he said.

Several area fire companies, including the Shavertown Volunteer Fire Company were dispatched via a 10:30 p.m. call July 4 for a fire that started at 118 Main St. and spread to 122 Main St. in Dallas.

The fire destroyed both buildings.

Sowga, Berti and Keith Rinehimer accepted their resolutions Wednesday. David Rinehimer and Sherrill will receive their resolutions at a later date.

After being rescued, Warmouth was transported to the intensive care unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital near Allentown.

She sustained severe burns to four percent of her body, including her arms, legs and abdomen, according to a GoFundMe page set up to help her and her family with medical expenses.
