DALLAS — Booyah! Burgers & Bites will open an eatery in the Back Mountain in early August, according to owner Kristen Favata.

Just a year after establishing a location on Wyoming Avenue in Wyoming, Favata will bring her fresh twist on a traditional burger joint to 2834 Memorial Highway in Dallas, next to Domino’s Pizza.

“We will be opening the beginning of August,” Favata said, noting a target opening date of Aug. 1, but added she is waiting to receive permits and complete finishing touches before welcoming the public.

The Dallas eatery will feature Booyah! Burgers & Bites’ trademark fresh foods, which include burger patties made daily, hand-cut French fries, hand-breaded chicken as well as crisp salads and signature homemade sauces.

A new addition to the menu will include gluten-free rolls, Favata said.

“There is nothing like this (Booyah! Burgers) here,” she said. “There are corporate restaurants, but no locally owned businesses providing fresh food within 10 minutes.”

Favata plans to hire 10 to 15 full- and part-time positions for the Back Mountain restaurant, which includes a general manager position.

“Some of our staff from Wyoming will come and help train the new employees,” she said.

Newspapers still were taped to the business’ glass door and a big blue tarp covered the window on Wednesday, but inside fresh white walls with blue wainscoting and stainless steel sinks gleamed. Favata said booths and kitchen appliances will arrive in the next few days.

Unlike the Wyoming restaurant, the Dallas location will not have a drive-thru window; however, customers may place orders online at www.eatbooyah.com or call 570-675-6551.

Favata also plans to roll out an all-day delivery service to accommodate local businesses and college students at Misericordia University in Dallas and Penn State Wilkes-Barre in Lehman Township.

“A lot of first-year college students don’t have cars,” she said.

Kristen Favata, owner of Booyah! Burgers & Bites, is working to open a second location of the eatery in Dallas.
