Dallas Days History and Art Presentation to honor 100-year-old Frances Gavigan

DALLAS TWP. — The Dallas Days History and Art Presentation will continue at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 21, with special guest Frances Gavigan.

Gavigan resided in the Back Mountain for 91 years and will invite the community to celebrate her 100th birthday on May 21.

A resident at Mercy Center in Dallas, Gavigan was born in Swoyersville but moved to the Back Mountain when she was 9 years old.

She is scheduled to attend the Dallas Days History and Art Presentation to talk with visitors and share a slice of birthday cake.

The free event is part of Dallas Township’s bicentennial celebration.
