DALLAS TWP. — The health care management program and the Health Care Management Association at Misericordia University are collaborating with The Advocacy Alliance of Scranton on Saturday, Nov. 19 to provide information and help for people who need assistance navigating the Health Insurance Marketplace for the new year. The free community education event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in McAuley Hall on campus.
Open enrollment in the Health Insurance Marketplace begins Nov. 1 and runs through Dec. 15 for anyone who needs to enroll, re-enroll or change their insurance plan through the Affordable Care Act. Medical coverage can begin as soon as Jan. 1, 2017 by signing up for insurance.
