FRANKLIN TWP. — The James and Oliver Evans family reunion met Aug. 7 at the Orange M.E. Church in Franklin Township.
The attendance was down in numbers from the previous year but despite that, there were four different branches of the tree representing the Evans family.
A buffet lunch was served, followed by the annual meeting, a group picture and the penny auction which raises money for the location of the meeting place.
Officers will remain the same: President Gina Evans; Vice President Florence Jones; Secretary Misty Mecca and Historian Susan Davis.
The president asked all in attendance if they would turn in their family’s World War I soldiers to her as a tribute to the war’s 100th anniversary. She will include them in the next Evans Gazette.
Next year’s reunion is the same place and time for the first Sunday in August.
