HARVEYS LAKE — The Osterhout Free Library and Back Mountain Memorial Library have joined to offer a summer reading program at the Wilkes-Barre Jewish Community Center’s Day Camp for children ages 2 through seventh grade.
The Summer Reading Program will be held at the JCC camp site over an eight-week period and the campers will attend events at the Back Mountain Memorial Library with transportation provided by the day camp.
The camp program will run as a parallel to the local libraries’ programs with reading logs provided.
The reading program is being coordinated by Mary Ann Yonki, Wilkes-Barre Library District Consultant, and directed by Elaine Rash, Youth Services Coordinator at Osterhout Free Library; Janet Bauman, Children’s Librarian at Back Mountain Memorial Library; and Rick Evans, JCC Day Camp and Development Director.
The program is supported by the United Way of Wyoming Valley’s Campaign for Grade Level Reading.
