LEHMAN TWP. — The Lake-Lehman School District recently announced dates for its kindergarten registration for the 2016-2017 school year.

Parents are asked to register their child(ren) in the building they will be attending. The schedule is as follows:

• Ross Elementary — Tuesday, March 15

• Lake-Noxen Elementary — Wednesday, March 16

• Lehman-Jackson Elementary — Thursday, March 17

Parents are encouraged to register their child based on the following schedule with time designation based on the child’s last name:

• 9 a.m. — A through E

• 10 a.m. — F through J

• 11 a.m. — K through O

• 1 p.m. — P through S

• 2 p.m. — T through Z

No registrations will be processed between noon and 1 p.m. In the event the above dates or times present extreme inconvenience, contact 570-255-2792 to make other arrangements.

Lake-Lehman School District Policy states that the child must be 5 years of age before September 1, 2016 in order to register for the 2016-2017 school year. The Lake-Lehman School District Kindergarten program is an all day program. Parents must be residents in order to register their child. The Lake-Lehman School District does not accept non-resident students. Children must be in attendance for registration.

Screenings will be conducted during registration, which include vision and simple reading readiness. Registration paperwork is available on line. It is recommended that parents print, complete, and bring the forms to registration in addition to the paperwork listed below.

Parents must bring the following items when registering their child:

• Immunization records

• Birth certificate

• Custody agreements if applicable; the district cannot enforce unless a hard copy is on file

• At least two proofs of residency — driver’s license or cell phone bills are not acceptable

In the event of inclement weather, sessions will be rescheduled.
