Prudential Cares donates backpacks and school supplies to the Bourger Women with Children Program at Misericordia University

DALLAS TWP. — Prudential Cares volunteers helped start the school year on a happy note by delivering colorful backpacks filled with school supplies to children in the Ruth Matthews Bourger Women with Children Program at Misericordia University.

The Ruth Matthews Bourger Women with Children Program provides housing to single mothers and their children, while the mother is earning a bachelor’s degree.

For the 2017-18 academic year, the Bourger Women with Children Program has the largest number of participants in the program’s historya as 16 mothers and 19 children are in the program and live in three houses on the campus. The children range in age from 2-12.
