DALLAS — The Back Mountain Memorial Library summer reading program, “Build a Better World!” was extended an extra week to accommodate readers who got a late start with the program.

Tweens can still take part in the book discussion about “Nory Ryan’s Song” by Patricia Riley Giffat at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 14, at the library, located at 96 Huntsville Road.

The end of summer reading program party is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, on the grounds of the library.

All summer readers who have kept up with their reading and attended programs are welcome to attend.

Activities will revolve around the theme of “Build a Better World” as well as the 2017 Back Mountain Memorial Auction theme of “Everything Old is New Again.”

Children will recycle paper, craft materials, recyclables, books and toys at the party.

Children and teens will also enjoy snacks, refreshments, games, crafts, and giveaways. TJ Belt of Jubilee Balloons will create a special balloon for each child. Her visit is made possible by the Dreier Family, of Dallas.

Parents are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for their children to sit while enjoying refreshments

Parents are required to pre-register their children for the final party so enough food and supplies will be available.
