DALLAS TWP. — The Department of Social Work at Misericordia University and the Wellfleet Collective presented the second national Integrating Yoga into Mental Health Care Conference with keynote speaker Amy Weintraub.

The conference targeted mental health and rehabilitative health professionals, yoga teachers and therapists, with various workshops focusing on the application of yoga in various mental health disorders.

In 2016, the Wellfleet Collective, an interdisciplinary collaboration organized at the First National Conference on Yoga and Psychotherapy, formed to support and expand the clinical applications of yoga in mental and behavioral health treatment, and deepen the connections between the mental health and therapeutic yoga community.

Amy Weintraub is a pioneer in the field of yoga and mental health for more than 20 years. She authored “Yoga for Depression: A Compassionate Guide to Relieving Suffering through Yoga,’’ and “Yoga Skills for Therapists: Effective Practices for Mood Management.’’

She is the director of LifeForce Yoga Healing Institute, which trains yoga and health professionals internationally. Health care providers worldwide use LifeForce Yoga protocol.
